Role Details

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking an Advisor OHS with pre-hospital and critical care experience to join their Sustainable Development department at Granny Smith Gold Mine.
Reporting to the OHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for contributing to organisational capability, securing the optimal health of the workforce by effectively coordinating all occupational health, injury management, rehabilitation, health promotion and associated functions for site.
This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is fly in fly out from Perth and is a fixed term 12 months contract,

Key responsibilities will include:
Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours values are adhered to at all times.
Managing the site medical clinics; providing routine medical treatment and advice as well as emergency response whilst adhering to the poison permit requirements.
Coordinate the injury management function for site, inclusive of business partners, to ensure maximum levels of fitness for work can be achieved.
Liaise with medical & allied health professionals regarding appropriate treatment and ensuring that rehabilitation plans are monitored and followed through.
Undertake fitness for work assessments by facilitating onsite drug and alcohol screening and reviewing pre-employment medicals for site clearance.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in communications and ensuring sensitive information is kept secure.
Assist Sustainable Development Team with regulatory compliance regarding occupational hygiene on site through regular biological monitoring.
Prepare and distribute quality health information reports, using organisational style guidelines within agreed timeframes to meet business requirements.
Complete compliance audits as per site schedule.
Assist with first aid training of the mine’s emergency response team (ERT), volunteers and local community groups.


Key factors to your success include;
Minimum 2 years previous experience in a similar role
ALS certified Registered Nurse / Paramedic with Pre-Hospital & Critical Care experience
Previous injury management experience
Demonstrated understanding & application of relevant legislation
Intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications
Possession of valid WA C Class License as a minimum
Training and Assessment TAE40110 certificate highly regarded
Previous INX experience highly regarded
Previous Injury Connect experience highly regarded.
