Overview
Gulf Keystone Petroleum is an independent oil and gas company and leading upstream operator in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Following a series of major discoveries, the Company is growing quickly. We are looking for a high calibre individual to hold the position of Field Medic.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the provision of medical treatment in case of incidents and occupational illness and operating field clinics.
Provision of medical care and treatment for injured and ill personnel
Coordination with external hospitals for cases that need intensive care which cannot be provided in the field clinics
Operating, maintaining and administering medical equipment, drugs and general stock
Managing field clinics and ambulances and keeping their functionality to the highest international standards 24/7also in terms of serviceability and cleanliness
Maintaining medical records for each patient
Conducting hygiene audits e.g. in kitchens, accommodations, mess halls etc.
Taking part into camp inspections
Monitoring hygiene management in food storage facilities, kitchens, mess halls and other critical areas
Acting as primary emergency medical response
Trains personnel in First Aid and other medical- and hygiene-related topics
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in oil and gas field, in remote locations or similar
Minimum 2 years’ experience in hospitals.
Diploma in Nursing or graduation from nursing school. Must have a nursing certificate from KRG.
BLS – Basic Life Support
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support
ACCC – Advanced Combat Casualty Care
PHTLS – Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support
Fluency in English and Kurdish. Arabic skills are highly desirable
Excellent communication skills
Have an ability to manage diverse activities and to meet deadlines
Be able to work in a multi-cultural work environment
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Good organizational and administrative skills
Computer literate to make reports in word and excel
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Have good interpersonal skills
