Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the Eagle contract for a EMT Paramedic The ParamedicProvides medical care to ill or injured employees in accordance with clinic operating procedures.Due to limited care in Afghanistan, this position may be required to execute “medical evacuation” procedures asnecessary. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining,updating, and studying medical histories.Determines abnormal conditions by evaluation of patient and observing clinical signs/symptoms.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing woundsand infections.May perform duties associated with Case Management.Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; promoting wellness and healthmaintenance.Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Determines fit for duty in accordance with the Department of Defense requirements for civilian contractorsdeploying with US forces.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Complies with protocols set in place by the Medical Director, ensuring not to provide medical care and/oradvice beyond scope of practice.Ensures documentation is accurate, legible and timelyMay attend meetings to report statistical data related to clinic operations.Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures.Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality ManagementSystem.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
NACI /Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens
Certified EMT-Paramedic, is required
EMT-License with no prior or current suspense, is requiredEducation:
High School diploma or equivalent, is required.
A minimum of 5 years clinic experience performing EMT-Paramedic duties, is required
EMT-Paramedic skills is required
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced EMT-Paramedic License or equivalent preferred
