Nurse Data Collector

Scope Of Work: 
Data collector for a community health survey position ( R2HC) will involve travelling as a team to various locations in Mafraq and Ramtha to administer a survey questionnaire, take measurements, and accurately record responses. Prior to the survey a multi-day training program will be required that will facilitate final enumerator selection.

Major Responsibilities:
Availability and willingness to travel to various locations for the duration of the survey, keeping in mind that the survey may run over the allotted time.
Attend training: this will be 2 -3 days training course held in Mafraq or Ramtha covering objectives of the study, review of measures and data collection procedures, research ethics compliance, and IRC policy. Training will likely be March 2019, so applicants should be available at this time.
Conduct data collection: after training, the study will include approximately 4 weeks of data collection in March and April 2019 in Ramtha and Mafraq catchment area of the IRC clinics. Data collection tasks will include: scheduling visits with household, collecting survey data as in-person interviews, and Screening Procedures which include (weight, height, assessing BP measurement in three different times, random or fasting blood sugar test)).
Adherence to code of conduct and research protocol at all times and report punctually to work at agreed upon times and as requested by your supervisors
Demonstrate commitment to the research project and be a team player at all times
Conduct self in a professional and respectful manner at all times
Demonstrate ability to properly administer questionnaires and properly record responses to administered questionnaire
Follow ethical procedures required for this study, including those for respondent privacy and data security. Capture the challenges and learning opportunities to field in the improvement of the overall research process.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with survey data collection and/or observational measure administration preferred but not necessary.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong self-initiative, ability to be flexible under pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team from different professional and cultural backgrounds.
Previous experience working with refugees, families, young children, and/or in northern Jordan preferred.
Past experience with community surveys is an asset
Participation in the survey stage will only occur if the applicant successfully passes a test after the training, and that this test will involve a written test and observation by the lead investigators.


Qualifications
Education: university degree in Nursing.
Work Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.


Deliverables:
Successfully attending the training.
Delivering the assigned number of daily surveys and households visits.

Payment will be based on timesheet. (Attendance of the training, conducting the scheduled daily household visits and surveys); Tablets will be distributed to data collectors and are considered under the full responsibility of the data collector. In addition to that, any damage or loss of the device will result in the suspension of payment.
