Job Description


Requirement Overview:
The Special Operations Brigade (SOB) Medical Planner Trainer/Mentor shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of personnel. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel. Develop tests and visual aids. Coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. If required, may use technical experts to assist in training.

Work Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.

Responsibilities:
The Medical Planner Trainer/Mentor will TAAM the ANASOC SOB Medical / Operational personnel to facilitate successful casualty operations, brigade health sustainment and medical administration to include tracking of casualties and status of wounded personnel with the G1. Some examples of routine work include but not limited to:

Developing the combat health support annex of the SOBs operations order
Overseeing and synchronizing brigade combat health operations
Monitoring medical troop strength to determine task organization for mission accomplishment
Obtaining updated medical threat and intelligence information for evaluation
Verifying emergency supply requests and taking action to expedite delivery
Monitoring Class VIII resupply requests to ensure adequate stockage for support of brigade operations
TAAM the care, progress, and reporting for all wounded personnel in the SOB
Willing to assist the team and teammates to accomplish mission requirements in other areas outside the scope of work, for short duration.
Required Operational, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


Shall have a minimum of four years of experience as a military medical professional (Combat Medic, Special Forces Medical Sergeant, PA, MD) at the Battalion/Brigade level (or equivalent) or Special Operations Company/Battalion-level (or equivalent).
Shall have experience in operational medical planning, medical logistics, and medical sustainment training
Medical Provider or certified SOF Medical NCO such as 18D
Combat experience required, 12 months experience in Afghanistan preferred
Shall be proficient with operating a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent Interpersonal and people skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent leadership, organizational & project management skills
Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility
Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan
Physical Requirements/Working Environment

Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied
Security Clearance Requirement: Must have an active/current DOD SECRET security clearance used within the past two years. Clearance is required to access and handle classified and personal personnel material, attend project meetings, and/or work within restricted areas unescorted.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Prefer Infantry or Special Operations background
Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
Required Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited school & four (4) years of related experience, OR two (2) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (12 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
