Job Brief
The Island Doctor plays a very important role within the Human Resources and Welfare function of the organisation. He/She assists monitors and gives health care to all the team members.
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work.
Check the Pre-Employment Medical Certificate of the team members and report any discrepancies to the Human Resources Manager.
Provide First Aid to the employees and guests
Provide First Aid Training to the employees
Ensure that each Department/designated locations have a fully stocked First Aid Box
Liaise with the Ministry of Health to ensure that all standards required by the Ministry are met
Advise and guide the expatriate employees of their entitlements in terms of the Medical Scheme
Handle the insurance claims and reimbursement process of all team members including additions deletions
Liaising with insurance service providers when required
Inform Human Resources Manager/Director whenever an employee needs to be referred to a Male Government Clinic
Produce relevant periodic reports as and when required
Number of sick leave recorded
Number of employees/guests seen per month
Attestation status ratio
Food Handlers status ratio
Visit and report any hygiene issues at the Team Restaurant/Main Stores/Kitchen/Team Accommodation
Report any health and safety hazards
Accompany the employees to the hospital as and when required
Assist in the orientation process of new employees
Administer Medical and Personal Accident Schemes
Counsel and advise staff in all Medical related issues
Plan supplies well in advance and liaise with the Human Resources Director/Manager and Purchasing Manager to ensure availability of medical equipment at all time.
Attend and act as a First Aid Representative in all sport/welfare activities organised by the Human Resources department
Maintain cordial relationships with the local island hospitals for any exigencies
Perform any other duties as assigned by Management
