Job Summary
Surgeon General Advisor shall support the MoI through mentoring and advising the ANSF on effective management and leadership practices to improve the ANSF Medical System to efficiently and effectively deliver health care.
Principal Accountabilities
Advise the ANP Senior General (SG) and the Senior Administrator with all aspects of developing policy and strategy, IAW the ANSF Surgeon General Ministerial Development Plan.
Provide supports and guidance for cross functional issues that require horizontal staffing and coordination and systemic integration to support the ANSF Surgeon General's (SG) goals and objectives in the Ministerial integrated systems to ensure Development Plan. Establish and refine vertically and horizontally integrated systems through modern ANSF practices to ensure proper communication and dissemination of tasks and correspondence.
Coordinate medical logistics, medical facilities, preventive medicine and medical clinical operations director goals and objectives are completed per this current contract.
Provide the MoI Ministerial Advisory Group (MAG) Combined Joint-Surgeon Contract Officer Representative (CJ-SURG COR) a monthly electronic report detailing the progress for the month on all tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must demonstrate creative problem solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team equally well.
Experience & Education
Former Military (O6) Medical Service Officer or equivalent experienced civil servant.
At least 20 years leadership, management and administrative experience with the military health care system.
Must have a final (not interim) SECRET Level Security DoD Clearance before deployment and must maintain that clearance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must pass all medical and fitness requirements directed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) in order to deploy
Must be able to operate in harsh and austere conditions of Afghanistan
