About the role

We currently have opportunities available for Paramedics on a roster which promotes work/life balance. These roles are based at South Walker Creek for residential and drive-in-drive-out candidates. Reporting to the Security and Emergency Management Supervisor, within the Health, Safety and Environment team your duties will include:
Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Maintain systems to ensure emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery is effective.
Liaising with Operational Leaders to ensure medical / clinical management requirements are coordinated.
Management of specific Security and Emergency Management (SEM) projects aligned with HSE Business Plan
Maintain operational medical emergency response readiness.
Manage clinical presentations, medical emergencies and injury management.
Assist with site security, security access systems, and front of house duties.
Follow BHP Medical treatment and drug protocols / guidelines.
Complete reports, clinical notes and other documentation.
Complete monthly poison permit audits and clinical governance duties.
Coordination of health promotion activities.
Medical and first aid training.
Drug and Alcohol collection.

About You
Hold a degree or diploma in paramedical science from a CAA approved institution or similar (for overseas applicants).
Demonstrated experience in an emergency response role in the emergency medical arena.
Leadership skills and experience in managing people in emergency situations (Command and Control).
Outstanding organisation and communication skills.
Certificate III Mines Rescue or equivalent.
Current Open “C” Class Manual Drivers Licence.
Previous experience working in remote areas whilst not essential, will be highly regarded.
