Tasks & Responsibilities:
As the medical coordinator, you are responsible for the quality, supervision and coordination of health strategy, project and activities in Philippines. You are responsible for participating in an exploratory sexual and reproductive health (SRH) mission, and the development of the strategy. You design the new SRH program starting in Manila in 2019.

Furthermore, you advise on all health-related issues with regards to the current environment and health project in Barangay 775 and include liaising with relevant stakeholders. You develop relationships with the Department of Health and local health centers.

More specifically, your activities are to:
Strategy development

Conduct regular context analysis on the health situation in the country especially in the lens of MdM thematic areas

Identify, monitor and report unmet needs/gaps (in MdM thematic areas, and explore the potential of MdM to address them)

Participate in the development of general strategy for MdM in the country, along with the general coordinator and the team
Program cycle management

Contribute to the exploratory mission of the new project development, contribute in conducting health needs assessments in communities

Build and reinforce partnerships

Contribute to the project writing and ensure that the different health/medical components of the programs are consistent with the general and thematic strategies of MdM, with MdM added value in country and with country needs
Coordination representation

Contribute actively to ensure regular exchanges between MdM projects in the Philippines

Contribute in mapping forums that are of interest for MdM

Actively coordinate with other actors/organizations working in the same fields than MdM;

Evaluate the needs and requests of potential partners

Attends all necessary and relevant health meetings and workshops on behalf of MdM.
Monitoring

Monitor the health situation in the country with a special regards to the MdM thematics

Collect any other data/reports as requested by the donor, general coordinator and HQ adviser
Management/HR

Identify HR needs, overseeing recruitment of health/project staff together with the general coordinator, and contribute to induction of new team members about the MdM standards and values in coordination with the administrative team and the HR department
Pharmacy

Support logistics to ensure supplies fit with MdM quality standards

Advise on the pharmacy stock management (inventory, expiration dates, stock cards, daily consumption, others) if needed

Responsible for the purchase order for drugs if required.
Reporting

Contribute to the writing of the monthly medical report and other reports sent to HQ

Contribute in donor report writing and any other reports necessary for authorities

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Status : Employee Contract : Fixed-term contract
Duration : 3 months

2763 euros gross monthly salary
Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)

22.5 RTT (recovery days) per year
5 weeks of paid leaves per year.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Medical or paramedical background as doctor, nurse or midwife;
Technical skills in medical project management in humanitarian context;
Previous experience as a medical advisor or medical coordinator in humanitarian context;
Previous coordination experience is required;
Previous experience in emergency context is an asset.

Management skills;
Excellent writing and communication / organizational skills;
Excellent cultural awareness and sensitivity skills required, especially with regards to the existing national cultural perceptions around SRH topics;
Ability to classify, to manage and adapt priorities according to the context;
Ability to listen and share decisions and take effective decisions according to the context;
Flexibility, reactivity, anticipation, adaptability, capacity to take initiatives.
