Site Safety Adviser / Medic

Hastings Technology Metals is an ASX listed, exploration and development company that is currently concentrating its efforts on developing the Yangibana rare earths project. This project is located 270 kilometres northeast of Carnarvon in the Gascoyne region. As we commence the next stage of the project, construction of the camp village has commenced. We are looking for two (2) experienced advisers to work “back to back” to provide onsite WHS and Medic support and advice to the Yangibana site.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

· Implement and maintain Hastings H&S Management System Framework, including polices, standards, and business procedures to provide an injury free site
· Oversee that all incidents are investigated, and root causes identified.
· Provide and support appropriate facilities for safe storage, handling and transport of hazardous substances.
· Lead a consultative and collaborative approach to H&S.
· Coordinate the emergency control, response and recovery services.
· First responder for injury/incident management.
· Liaise with contractors to provide guidance on H&S compliance.
· Facilitate site-based inductions and other training.
· Conduct internal audits and workplace inspections.

Key Skills and experience:

· Min 5+ years site safety experience in the mining and resources industry
· Diploma in Health and Safety
· Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
· Minimum Occupational First Aid qualification
· Drug and Alcohol tester accreditation
· Trained and experienced in conducting incident investigations
· Lead Auditor qualifications
· Able to create positive relations with peers and stakeholders
· Qualifications and/or experience in training and assessment is highly regarded.

Current W.A. drivers’ licence
