The Medic is a part of the team conducting search, clearance and disposal of explosives. The Medic is responsible for maintaining a preparedness for emergency situation, and for conducting life-saving first aid on casualties in accordance with the best practices on the field. The Medic is also following up the health of the team members and the team spirit of the team.

General Responsibilities:

·The Paramedics report operationally to the Task Supervisor. They report about medical matters to the Senior Medical .A Medic must:

Maintain quality paramedic care regardless of the patient's race, religion, age, sex, nationality, and disability, social or economic status;

Respect patient confidentiality and rights;
Maintain patient safety at all times;
Protect the patient from harm and be an advocate for the patient's welfare;
Practice in accordance with the professional practice standards established by the medical profession;
Carry out delegated duties, recognising the limitations of their own competence;
Maintain excellent hygiene in all procedures at all times;
Participate in continuous quality improvement activities;
Follow Norwegian People’s Aid guidelines and policies;
Regularly update professional knowledge and practice;
Promote teamwork and ensure good communication;
Carry out the instructions of their supervisors in a manner that is supportive and constructive.
Report for duty at the correct time and place absolutely reliably.
Provide technical backup, from a medical perspective, for field activities, as required.
Maintain a reporting mechanism and produce proper records and reports on all aspects of medical activities.
Maintain medications, check frequently date of expire and request purchase to the OM

The medics should be able to carrying out their duties in the manner devised in training. This includes being correctly dressed at all times and that they have the appropriate equipment available. They are ultimately responsible for their own safety and welfare and they are to ensure that they are adequately equipped and briefed before starting work.
They are to carry out other tasks as dictated by changing circumstances, or as required by the TA/OM.
The medics shall plan and execute Casevac/Medevac exercises together with TA and TS. The Casevac/Medevac procedure is to be conducted once each week involving all personnel in the team
The medic shall always be present and alert at the team/ambulance during working hours.
The medic has the personnel responsibility in their unit and is therefore responsible to fill in the turn out/absence form for their team.
Any additional duties as may be required.

Qualifications

:Education

Must have:Medical Secondary degree
Desirable:Medical certificates degree

Experience

Must have:1-3- over years' experience from the mine action sector
•Experience in EOD work
•Field experience
Desirable:
Experience in working with International NGOs
Written & verbal proficiency in English and Arabic.
Good interpersonal skills
Good communication and understanding skills
Able to work effectively under, & adapt to, difficult conditions
Willingness & ability to travel within inside & outside the country
