Summary

This position is located at the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) in Blackstone, VA.

The incumbent serves as a Training Specialist (Paramedic), responsible for providing expertise in developing, coordinating, and implementing the Diplomatic Security (DS) sponsored emergency medical training program.

This position is eligible for telework ; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval). This position is also being announced through Merit Promotion procedures under Announcement # D S-2018-0184. Candidates who wish to be

Responsibilities

Participates in the development and delivery of emergency medical training courses in collaboration with Instructional Systems Management (ISM), in accordance with the Federal Law Enforcement Accreditation (FLETA) standards. Serves as an expert on emergency medical training and for emergency medical services, domestic hospitals, and healthcare disaster response training for Diplomatic Security.
Participates in the scheduling, course development, and logistics planning and execution of the emergency medical portions of courses, including Marines Security Guard (MSG), Marine Security Augmentation (ASAU) training and the DS Medical Sustainment Training.
Serves as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR)/Government Technical Monitor (GTM), responsible for monitoring contracts for personal service contractors and third party contract personnel to ensure contract compliance. Assist with the drafting of contractual documents needed for the training program, reviews invoices, and performs other COR duties.
Participates in the creation and updating of lesson plans, instructor guides, student guides, practical exercises, and power point presentations as assigned. Assists with comprehensive reviews of current emergency medical training courses in accordance with established standards operating procedures. Conducts analyses and evaluation of emergency medical and tactical medical lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods.
Performs emergency medical care according to established treatment protocols developed by MED in the domestic support of high-risk training events and contingency operations.Travel Required

establishment in the appropriate field(s);
supervising or administering a training program;
development or review of training / course
materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation
of training results; or work in the occupation
or subject-matter field of the position to be
filled that required training or instructing
others on a regular basis.

There is no substitute of education for
specialized experience for the GS-12
position.
