Job Description
• Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the hospital mission and goals
• To attend phone calls and collect transfer details.
• To provide Physical assessment and emergency care during patient transfers
• All treatment shall fall under the guidelines and protocols as per DOH
• Complete patient care report and other documentations
• Safe Ambulance driving during transfers
• To attend courses to update current pre hospital care skills
• Complete Daily ambulance inventory and equipment checklist
• Daily Ambulance and equipment cleaning
• Liaise with various departments
• Perform other job-related duties, responsibilities and improvement-related activities that may be assigned by immediate line Managers
Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing with EMT basic license
• Current DOH EMT Basic License holder
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the field of EMS
• Recognized Intermediate Life Support qualification
• 2 years postgraduate EMS experience required
• Minimum of 1600 hours over the last two years in an Emergency Medical Service
Key Outputs
Comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic policies and procedures are adhered to. The scientific clinical approach is applied, a process of consultation, investigation and treatment are followed. Systems to support multilateral communication between patient: Paramedic, Paramedic: Doctor and Paramedic: Nurse are adhered to.
• Aseptic and sterile techniques are adhered to
• A recognized triage system is maintained
• Professional ethics are maintained
• Ambulance services policies and procedures are adhered to
• Medical equipment is kept in good working order and discrepancies are reported to Ambulance Station Manager
• Rapid and effective emergency care ensured
• Clinical notes are written legibly and according to procedure
• Proper hygiene in the working environment is maintained
