Engility is seeking a FIELD MEDICAL TRAINER to work in various countries with the State Department ACOTA (African Contingency Operations Training and Assistance) Program. Training emphasizes stabilizing wounded personnel for movement to and follow-on treatment by a medical specialist and will focus on the following;
- Prevention and treatment of heat injuries
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Airway management
- Intravenous access
- Treatment of fractures
- Treatment of extreme burns
- Treatment of gunshot wounds
- Treatment of internal injuries due to trauma
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as the Country Manager's principal Peacekeeping Operations (PKO)
- Field Medical instructor for African military units receiving U.S. Department of State's AFRICAP Training
- Instruct and supervise PKO unit medical training in African for African company, battalion and brigade sized units deploying to PKOs
- Focus on technical aspects, deployment, operational requirements, and maintenance of various engineer systems.
- Training shall support the preparation of partner country battalions and brigades for deployments to and sustained operations in multinational peacekeeping operations in Africa by training African commanders and staffs in all aspects of engineer operations skills and procedures
- Ensure all training scenarios are based on the most current mission area information from Areas of Operation that African PKO battalions and brigades will deploy to.
- All classes shall be taught in the language of the Host Nation Military.
This position is contingent based on contract award
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 6 – 14 years of U.S. military operations and training experience required.
- Should be a subject matter expert in all forms of engineer systems and operations.
- Prefer U.S. Military Occupational Medical Specialty pertaining to FMT, preferably 68W (Combat Medic), 18D (Special Forces Medic), US Navy Corpsman or USAF para-rescue Jumper.
- Must be familiar with the Combat Lifesaver Tasks
- Must be familiar with standard military training concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid right to work document.
Desired Qualifications:
- Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college course work leading to an advanced degree, preferred.
- Recent U.S. Military combat and/or PKO experience in Africa.
- Ability to speak French.
