Summary
Administers basic and advanced life support care to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital and in-hospital setting consistent with the KFSH&RC and Ambulance Services policies and Protocols
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Assesses each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol as per patient’s needs.
2. Monitors and maintains the general condition of the unit, keeps it clean and stocked for optimal call response to maintain the image of the KFSH&RC Ambulance Services.
3. Documents activities completely to ensure appropriate information is available regarding each call.
4. Provides patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
5. Maintains response readiness consistent with KFSH&RC Ambulance Services’ response criteria.
6. Demonstrates and ensures knowledge, understanding and compliance of the Ambulance Services Policies and procedures.
7. Acts as a team leader and takes responsibility for scene management as needed.
8. Functions as trainer or preceptor, as necessary.
9. Prepares required reports and leads or assists with projects as needed.
10. Adherences in maintaining CURRENT certifications.
11. Adherences to the level of satisfaction and the quality of the work performed.
12. Adherences to internal quality indicators and processes to perform efficient patient service.
13 Adherences to timely and accurately documenting patient and equipment records and submitting all reports on time.
14. Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.
15. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Emergency Health Services with emphasis in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) required.
Paramedic licensure from country of origin and the following qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and PHTLS.
Experience Required
For Grade 8: Two (2) years of Paramedic experience as with Bachelor’s Degree, or four (4) years of similar requirements with Associate Degree required.
For Grade 9: Four (4) years of Paramedic experience at KFSH&RC average evaluation for the last (4) years 4.3 Fifty (50) CME hours minimum.
