Medic volunteers URGENTLY needed in Nicaragua and Tanzania – all expenses covered

Company: Raleigh International
Location: Nicaragua/Tanzania

Are you a doctor, nurse or paramedic?

Want a break away from the norm? Want to spend 3 months in Nicaragua or Tanzania this summer?

If you’ve been thinking about taking some time out and doing something valuable, whilst also developing your clinical skills, then this could be the opportunity for you!

Raleigh International is looking for doctors, nurses and paramedics to join our International Citizen Service (ICS) programme in Tanzania and Nicaragua this summer. ICS is a UK government funded programme which aims to bring about young people from all over the world to fight poverty in rural communities across the globe. To safely and successfully run Raleigh ICS we need medics to do so!

We cover your costs (flights, vaccinations, accommodation etc...) and all we ask you to fundraise is £800. As the ICS medic you’ll mainly be based in Raleigh’s operational hub – the field base, although you will get some experience on the project sites as well.

Your role will consist of looking after the general health of all the volunteers, supporting operational decisions and managing any emergencies that may occur, therefore in order to apply you must have at least two years clinical experience which will enable you to support volunteers living in a remote environment.

When can I go?

We're currently recruiting for our summer programmes.

• Nicaragua: 23rd May to 2nd September 2017
• Tanzania: 1st June to 4th September 2017

We also have programmes in September and again in January 2018.

Benefits
• Gain and develop tropical medicine skills and experience
• Learn new skills to develop or change your career
• Gain experience working with young people in a challenging environment
• Experience living in a completely new and exciting environment
