Emergency Medical Technician (Instructor)

This position is located in the Operational Medicine Unit, Office of Training and Performance Standards, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State. The work location for this position is at the Diplomatic Security Training Center in Dunn Loring, VA, and in the Interim Training Facility in Summit Point, WV. The incumbent in responsible for participating in the development and delivery of emergency medical training courses taught through the Training Center.

Major Duties:
Provides medical emergency care according to established treatment protocols in support of high risk training events and contingency operations both domestically and abroad.
Serves as an Emergency Medical Technician Instructor.

Develops and delivers emergency medical training courses to include scenarios to tactical medical response in a critical observes training deficiencies to recommend improvement areas for training courses.
Updates emergency medical programs as new technologies and methods are identified.
Creates and updates lesson plans, instructor guides, student guides, practical exercises and power point presentations.
Schedules training courses and training instructors to achieve maximum efficiency.
Provides support to other training programs to include acting as a role player, coach, or instructor.
