Offshore Medic/HSE Advisor


Location: Offshore

Offshore Medic/HSE Advisor is an offshore role focusing on safety awareness, medical support for all stakeholders on site, local environmental protection and compliance with procedures and adopted requirements.

Main areas of responsibilities:
Promote a positive QHSE culture;
Participate in internal audits;
Assist in 2nd party audits;
Actively support onboard risk assessments;
Verify proper execution of toolbox talks and support upon request;
Participate in or perform safety and/or environmental inspections/walk-arounds;
Attend (and contribute to) all safety meetings;
Control of all documentation related to project QHSE reporting;
Collate data for measuring SOC’s project HSE performance, allowing for timely reporting hereon;
Support incident/accident investigations and participate if and when required;
Carry out the onsite activities related to crew changes, in liaison with SOC’s Crew Coordinator;
Verify competence and compliance of all entering the SOC work site/boarding a vessel;
Perform safety inductions related to the SOC scope of work (non-marine);
Offer initial medical support to all persons on site;
Manage medical equipment on SOC’s work locations
Manage medical arrangements on SOC’s work locations
Support drug and alcohol testing



Preferred profile:
  • Completed nursing school education, attested by a diploma, or an equivalent related to offshore medicine.
  • Being registered as a professional nurse in the NMC or BIG register or equivalent,
  • Minimal two years of work experience as a professional nurse or offshore medic,
  • A refresher course Offshore Medic after 5 years of certification,
  • Offshore Medical Certificate valid for the area of operation
  • A minimum of 2 years of QHSE experience in marine and/or offshore industry;
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001 based quality management systems;
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO 14001 based environmental management systems;
  • Knowledge of and experience with OHSAS 18001 based safety management systems.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
  • Team player who can work independently;
  • Working at heights (BGR 198/199 and BGI 657, GWO standard)
  • Confined Space Entry (BGR 177),
  • Personnel Transfer at sea
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel and to work in rotation schedules offshore
