Position Summary
This position provides strategic direction and overall leadership in the development, implementation, management and evaluation of policies and programs that address employee health and wellness. Area of responsibility includes 4500 employees located at multiple domestic locations (Texas, Kansas, Colorado, & New Mexico) and several international assets in South America and the Middle East.
Essential Job Duties:
HR (Physical Review; Short Term Disability and Return to Work)
Works closely with VP Human Resources (HR) to support business objectives
Provides specific policy direction and leadership in program development, implementation, management and evaluation of: disability management, drug testing programs, onboarding & assimilation of new hires, expatriate family issues, business traveler health, and business continuance
Evaluates, selects and maintains quality control for international and domestic occupational health providers of emergency care and evacuation, occupational injury management, physical exams, travel medicine
Facilitates occupational health services for domestic and international acquisitions
Develops outlook projections and maintains annual department budget. Ensures proper contracts are established with appropriate pricing for medical services and supplies. Ensures approval and payment of invoices for medical services and supplies
Physical Exam Administration: OOG Executive examination program; age-based rotational worker examination program; return to work exam and fitness-for-duty evaluation
Medical review of pre-employment examinations
HESS (Social Responsibility, Floor Wardens; regulatory, drug testing)
Works with a multi-disciplinary HR and Health, Environment & Safety (HES) team to provide appropriate technical occupational
health support to safeguard company personnel, contractors, assets, surrounding communities and the environment. Participates in on- site audits
Site–specific safety and environmental evaluations
International and Travel Health (Expats, business travelers, rotational, provider evaluations)
Liaison on health/medical issues to all Expatriate families, providing 24/7 assistance and consultation as needed
Facilitates all international medical evacuations. Liaison to the current medical and security assistance companies. Responsible for quality control and review of all incidents
Wellness (Greenway Plaza Office Advisor)
Coordinates social responsibility activities such as Blood Drives, Greenway Wellness Screenings, MD Anderson Mobile Mammography Unit, Family Fun Run, Annual Soccer Tournament, etc.
Provide first aid and health counseling for employees and first response urgent care in the event of an emergency
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing
5+ years of Occupational Health practice
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse- Specialist (COHN/S) certification.
Fully unencumbered nursing license in the State of Texas
Strong understanding of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Must be able to work independently, prioritize and make quality decisions in a timely manner
