Job Summary
Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position of EMS Manager for the Medupi Project reporting to the Operations Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Medupi Power Station to be erected at the Medupi Site at Lephalale, Limpopo , South Africa.

Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this job is to manage and take responsibilities of all emergencies and medical rescue on site and making sure that the injured receive prompt treatment.

Ensure that all EMS related training is complete and up to date. Medical documentation is completed. All IOD claims are reported to FEMA. Report all incidents to safety department and trends that arises. Follow up on injured persons.
Key Responsibilities           The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Key and Specific Responsibilities
Engages in planning and coordination of projects and assignments in all phases of the emergency management cycle
Manage the Provision of Intermediate Life Support Paramedical service on site.
Overseeing all Basic Life Support paramedics and Intermediate Life Support Paramedics on site.
All medical documentation is completed.
Managing the emergency medical services on site.
Assists in the implementation of physical-security plans during periods of credible threat to ALL services.
Managing the Wellness and Emergency Centre on site.
Rescuing of all employees, contractors and subcontractors in an emergency.
Overseeing all Basic Life Support paramedics and Intermediate Life Support Paramedics on site.
Inspection of all medical and first aid equipment.
Ordering of disposable medical equipment.
Completing all WCL 2 and WCL 1 forms and making sure that they are sent in to FEMA.
Overseeing all first aiders on site and making sure that they are certified.
Training all first aiders on site.
Training and refreshing Basic Life Support paramedics.
Making sure of all records are up to date.
Notifying the HSE team of any injury trends that arise



Candidate Requirements

1          Do you have an accredited University Bachelor's Degree?
2          Do you have 2 years’ experience in Emergency Management, fire                       prevention or safety operations?
3          Are you registered with HPCSA as an Intermediate Life Support                         Paramedic?
4          Do you have SHEMTRAC qualification?
5          Are you currently residing in Medupi area if not, is you willing to relocate             to  Medupi?

Key Requirements
Must have more than 3 years’ experience as an Intermediate Life Support Paramedic.
Must be qualified as a First aid instructor.
Must have experience in running an emergency medical service.
Must have at least SHEMTRAC in the OHS Act.

Education
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills if you do not possess the minimum please do not apply for this position.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by two years of experience in emergency management, fire prevention or safety operations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.
Registered by HPCSA as an Intermediate Life Support Paramedic
