Are you a nurse, doctor or paramedic? This is an exciting opportunity to join our international teams and volunteer as a Raleigh ICS (International Citizen Service) Medic in Nicaragua or India. We are looking for
experienced and passionate doctors, nurses and paramedics who have clinical experience allowing you support volunteers living in remote environments.
ICS is a UK government funded development programme that brings together young people to make a difference in some of the poorest communities in the world. ICS aims to bring about project impact, volunteer personal development and the creation of active citizens in the UK and developing countries.
We are looking for ICS medics to join our programmes for the following dates;
India: 10th May - 16th August
Nicaragua: 29th May - 31st August
Tanzania: 29th May - 31st August
The role of the ICS medic will suit someone looking to develop their clinical skills in an autonomous environment. Based at our in-country headquarters, the medic role provides vital medical support to our teams of volunteers. You will be responsible for looking after the general health of the volunteers and supporting operational decisions relating to any emergencies that may occur.
Along with clinical experience, you must have effective communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
