The Safety Technician/Medic-Offshore position will be assigned on a derrick barge to a rotating crew. The schedule is 14 days on and 14 days off. Transportation to and from the vessel will be provided to the employee from the Houma office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide on-site medical assessment/treatment of injured personnel Communicate with the Safety Manager the injured status and based on the severity, package injured employee/contractor for evacuation. Accompany injured personnel to the nearest emergency treatment facility as prescribed by the Safety Manager Accurately document all safety related reports including all safety equipment inspections, incidents reports and requisitions Responsible for first-aid and fire- fighting equipment upkeep/inspections Responsible for OSHA, USCG, EPA, BESSE, Manson Gulf and customer safety requirements and compliance. Provide audits on completed JSA’s and work plans Assist operations personnel with any incident or near-miss investigations Provide First-Aid/CPR training as necessary to the crew Provide OSHA/BESSE training to maintain annual compliance for the crew Responsible for the cleanliness of the vessel hospital and office and stocking/inventory of safety supplies Ensures compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct. Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.
