Job Description:
Performs occupational health medical evaluations, referrals and treatment, health screenings, vaccination administration. Administers Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) certification program. Provides medical support for emergency response and coordinates EMS response.
Key Responsibilities
Performs medical examinations. Evaluates medical records, clinical information and interprets results of diagnostic procedures to make medical diagnosis. Determines physician referrals. Administers medicines and performs treatments for workplace injuries and illness. Maintains adequate medical supplies and equipment.
Provides case management for injured/ill employees. Administers return-to-work process determining need for work accommodations and medical restrictions in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Completes new hire screenings/evaluations and annual compliance testing. Administers drug and alcohol testing. Plans and implements refinery wellness program. Conducts health coaching with employees. Administers preventative vaccinations in accordance with corporate policy and state regulations.
Administers FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) program.
Supports and participates in Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Incident Command Systems (ICS) training. Conducts first aid and other medical training for first responders and other refinery personnel as required. Responds to medical emergencies. Evaluates situation and administers emergency care and life-saving measures.
Maintains accurate and current medical records ensuring confidentiality.
Experience and Education
Master’s (MSN) degree required with current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required.
Current national certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner required. Physician Assistant
Graduate of a physician assistant program approved by the Committee on Allied Health
EDUCATION and Accreditation (CAHEA) with current and unencumbered Washington State Licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required.
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Minimum 5 years nurse practitioner experience with minimum 2 years occupational health experience required.
Certified in or ability to become certified within 6 months of hire in Drug Testing (DATIA), occupational hearing conservation (CAOHC) and pulmonary function testing (NIOSH).
