We
have an immediate requirement for a Paramedic and OHS safety advisor to
deploy at the end of July to Senegal, West Africa on a 6 month
renewable contract working 6 weeks on 5 weeks off.
Our client is conducting gold exploration drilling in a well-established field camp in West Senegal
[mobile phone coverage, internet, own room, etc.].
The primary role is to provide 24/7 routine and emergency pre-hospital trauma care to workforce of 15 expats and 60 Senegalese nationals in support of exploration geological and drilling operations.
The secondary role is to provide OHS operational management and advice, developing the site under international OHS standards, including capacity building and monitoring with local OHS staff.

Desired Skills and Experience
General job requirements
Minimum 3 years overseas work experience in remote environments.
Ability to work alone under pressure.
Computer literate MS Office – Word, Excel, Power Point.
Ability to write reports, policy and procedures, SOP etc.
Experienced trainer.
Good communicator.
Previous work experience in Africa desirable.
Previse working experience of working in the mining, oil & gas, off shore sectors desirable.
French speakers given priority consideration.
Medical
In date registered UK paramedic or equivalent.
ACLS/ATLS/PHLTS or equivalent.
Knowledge of tropical medicine and environmental threats [snakes, scorpions, etc.]
Minimum 5 years employment as a paramedic.
Minimum 3 years remote site paramedic experience.
Mange the onsite clinic.
Health & Safety
OHAS/NEEBOSH Health and Safety qualification or equivalent
Minimum 3 years work experience in an OHS role [may be combined with other medical duties]
