Job Summary:
The Manager – Occupational Health, manages the provision of high quality Occupational Health services for staff across the Organizations. He/ She leads a team of Staff Nurses to achieve the Occupational Health objectives and meet standards for staff health and wellbeing.
Key Accountabilities:
Manages, monitors and reviews the delivery of Occupational Health services to ensure a high quality
service and promote best practice
Ensures that the implementation of policies and processes meets legislative requirements and Sidra’s standards
Manages and leads the Occupational Health team, allocating duties to meet agreed objectives
Reviews policies, procedures and practice to ensure that the most effective research based and timely care is provided for staff
Contributes in the design of staff health and wellbeing
Develops methods for gathering and analyzing data and presents reports to leadership regarding performance, making recommendations for improvements
Collaborates with ancillary support services in adherence to international standards to plan a safe, environment for staff including the provision of health education
Participates through team working and collaborative partnerships in identifying and implementing solutions through evidence based practice or research to ensure continuous quality improvement
Manages untoward incidents / complaints by effective and timely investigation ensuring lessons learnt are effectively communicated.
Manages the implementation of clinical information systems at department level.
Manages the execution of the Occupational Health Budget
Communicates effectively with all staff in a manner consistent with their level of understanding, culture and background proactively seeking out solutions to improve communications and teamwork.
Supports recruitment activities
Monitors the performance of Occupational Health staff and advises on training initiatives for the development of their competence and performance
Assists the Director in the professional development of department staff
Ensures staff is encouraged to access clinical evidence in a timely fashion to positively influence their care delivery
Develops and sustains own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness and maintains a professional profile. Provides documented evidence of performance and maintenance of skills consistent with position.
Promotes a culture and environment which facilitates lifelong learning within the multi-professional team. Assists in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence based practice
Contributes as needed to the direct operations of various clinical activities
Upholds the organizational values at all times
Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Essential Requirements:
Education
Masters Degree in Nursing or health related field, or Masters in Business Administration from an accredited western university.
Registered Nurse
Exeprience:
7+ years of progressive management experience in specialty area in a similar setting
Certification and Licensure:
Registered Nurse with current Nursing License from country of origin Preferential however not essential Certification in Occupational Health or related field
Job Specific Skills And Abilities:
Ability to lead and manage diverse teams
Demonstrated experience in developing a new service.
Ability to assess, analyze, synthesize and act upon performance data and financial information.
Demonstrated ability to make oral and written presentations to diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to articulate and advocate on international best practice in respect to staff wellness.
Demonstrated resilience and “can-do” attitude
Ability to cope with rapid and sustained change, competing demands and tight deadlines.
Ability to develop effective relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Fluency in written and spoken English
