Position Description Summary:
The Emergency Medical Technician will provide medical support and assistance in the event of an incident while on mission supporting the Department of State’s diplomatic mission. He will act as a Protective Security Specialist when necessary. He will also work closely with the Medical Officer and Physician Assistant to ensure that all equipment and medical needs are provided for.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide medical support to personnel in the field
Respond to emergency medical situations
Act as a Protective Security Specialist when necessary
Skills:
Ability to respond to an emergency efficiently and promptly
Proven ability to administer basic and advanced life support to patients at scene, en-route to the hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting
Effective communication
Keen attention to detail
Demonstrated professionalism
Ability to work in a hostile and austere environment
Ability to operate in a conflict environment
Proven decision making abilities in a hostile environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Have experience/knowledge in current Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) guidelines
Trained and certified to current U.S. standards – recognized standards
Three (3) years experience can be gained in the employ of any national, State/Provincial, Local or commercial entities providing high threat protective services
One (1) year experience in austere environment working on a (PSD) Personal Security Detail
Contractor shall comply with the following EMT I qualifications:
Successful completion of State or National Registry EMT-Intermediate/85
Written and practical examinations
Submission of current approved CPR credentials for the professional rescuer
Upon hiring the Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate (PSS) will be required to:
Attend the PSS training course
Obtain and maintain weapons qualification with the Glock, M4, Shotgun, M240, M249 and M203 and familiarization fire for the AK47
Must be able to pass Physical Fitness test while attending training
