EHS Safety Medic Pdf
Job Description:
The EHS Safety Medic provides industrial hygiene and general safety support on vessels as well as assists the EHS Manager US and staff members with the implementation of various programs. As a medic they provide high-quality of care for the sick and injured in remote settings. This position will not only work with management to ensure all Safe Work Practices are adhered to but also screen and
triage employees in a clinical and/or traumatic incident and provide the highest quality of healthcare possible.
-- High School diploma or equivalent. Some post-high school education preferred.
-- Must have graduated from a national registry or state registry EMT-P course.
-- A safety-related degree from an ABET accredited occupational safety and health program preferred.
-- Implement company EHS programs on offshore construction/ survey and dive vessels.
-- Liaise with EHS management concerning all EHS issues.
-- Coordinate industrial hygiene policies and procedures with EHS Manager US, managers, staff members, and maintain records.
-- Coordinate and participate in safety meetings.
-- Case manage the healthcare of employees in a remote location.
-- Manage the implementation of all health policies, programs and systems rolled out by regional or corporate level management.
-- Responsible for inventories of all medical supplies and calibration of all medical equipment.
-- Issue all controlled work permits (including variance procedures and management of change).
-- Assist in JSEA worksheet process with supervisors.
-- Monitor work activities with emphasis towards environmental, health, and safety concerns.
-- Actively observe and aggressively remediate unsafe acts, conditions, and procedures.
-- Prepare and submit all incident reporting, assist in the tasks of accident investigations, document the injury/illness, perform a root cause on each to determine the cause, and track potential corrective action.
-- Maintain patient confidentiality with corresponding records and documents of all incidents, accidents, and illnesses per HIPAA.
-- Maintain a dangerous drug log of all narcotics on behalf of the Offshore Manager and Vessel Master.
-- Perform all EHS audits and inspections on the vessel and track the findings and corrective actions.
-- Track and maintain records of all EHS reporting forms and distribute to EHS management in a timely manner.
-- Liaise with Harkand Offshore Manager and Client Representatives concerning all EHS-related issues.
-- Control inventory and track EHS-related equipment.
-- Interpret OSHA standards and provide subject matter expertise as needed.
