Position Description
Performs triage at the scene of an emergency to determine priority of care. Provides advanced life support care to ill and/or injured patients in the pre-hospital care phase. Applies artificial airways, respiration and administers oxygen in required cases. Starts and administers intravenous fluids and performs other emergency medical procedures during ambulance ride. Involved in and contributes to disaster planning, drill and education/training.

Minimum Requirements
A. Associate degree in recognized and accredited EMT Paramedic program. Must be fully registered and with four (4) years of experience post registration.  OR
Bachelor degree in EMT related field or nursing and four years of experience post registration.
B. Fluency in written and spoken English.
C. Knowledge of Arabic very desirable.
D. Must have a valid Saudi Driver License.
Duties & Responsibilities A. Performs triage in the pre-hospital phase to determine priority of care and performs basic and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and
emergency care.
B. Provides and performs direct paramedical and comprehensive pre-hospital patient care as required, ensuring compliance with emergency
medical transport regulations, protocols, and procedures.
C. Applies artificial airways through Intubates, performs defibrillation , ACLS, monitors and synchronizes cardio version and trans-cutaneous
pacing , initiates treatment, initiates I.V. and performs rescue techniques.
D. Responds to life and death situations such as 110 calls and disaster response in case of an industrial accident.
E. Utilizes advanced medical equipment and monitors in the course of emergency medical treatment.
F. Assesses and Evaluates ambulance equipment requirements to meet SAMSO requirements and approved standardized ALS
requipments.
G. Participates and reviews disaster drills, safety education programs in emergency field, and provides training to EMT-Basic and first
responders.
H. Adheres to all EMT policies and procedures and Departmental & Health regulations and standards and function as a team member to
provide efficient and prompt care.
I. Assumes immediate control of major emergency or disaster situations and initiates mobilization following established procedures.
J. Maintain registration (such as NREMT) through on going training and CME.
K. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the unit supervisor.
