Head Nurse/Nurse Manager - Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) - Doha, Qatar
Service Description: Pre-Admission Testing (PAT)

Sidra’s 9-bed Pre-Admission Testing Unit (PAT) will provide pre-operative and pre-procedural assessments, testing and preparation for all elective Interventional Services patients: women preparing for Obstetrical and/or Gynecological treatment and pediatric patients during their PAT visit. A strong focus will be placed on patient and family education using various media to enhance learning. An Anesthesiologist and a Perioperative Nurse will interview and evaluate each patient. Testing may include: blood work, EKG, and chest X-ray which will be carried out in PAT. Patient education and discharge planning will be initiated during this appointment. In addition, a Child-Life Specialist will meet with selected pediatric patients and their families to enhance their understanding of the Perioperative process and to address the unique needs of children.

Hours of operation: Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 – 17:00

Direct Reports: Charge Nurses, Clinical Nurse Leaders, Staff Nurses and Patient Care Partners.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, the Manager - Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) is responsible for the evaluation, direction and administration of patient care delivery and the staff assigned to the PAT and in the pre-operational phase ensures that recruiting, commissioning, onboarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with department and organization goals and objectives.
Requirements
Master's in Nursing or a Healthcare-related field, from a North American or Western institution (NOTE: degree CANNOT be online or distance education)
Active, unrestricted North American or Western RN license
At least 7 years current progressive nursing management experience in Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) within a North American or Western academic medical center
Current certification as a BLS provider
Demonstrated knowledge of established PAT standards of care and to apply these standards of care to the analysis and development of policies, procedures, guidelines and ordersets, and protocols
