We have a great opportunity available for an experienced Doctor to fill a challenging, long term, FIFO role located in the North of Queensland on a large construction project.

The role will require you to provide medical services including emergency care and response for industrial/construction accident or emergency medical conditions including triage, first response and patient stabilization and transport to local and regional hospital facilities. On site, you will be supported by a Multi Disciplinary team including Paramedics, Trauma/Clinic Care Nurse, Physiotherapist and an Administration Assistant.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following
Provide daily medical services from the site based Clinic
Provide emergency medical services on site
Prescribe medications as necessary, including recommended immunizations and follow-up boosters
General X-Ray services
Ensure the clinic is managed according to the highest quality standards (industry best practice) and complies with client’s procedures and applicable health standards
Implement and manage clinic operating procedures
Provide or arrange for training of site personnel in emergency treatment (eg CPR, first aid)
Perform public health education campaigns for Project personnel
Provide consultation to/with the client on public health issues, disease outbreak, epidemic or pandemic issues

Experience and Qualifications required
Registered as a medical practitioner with AHPRA without restrictions or conditions
Occupational Therapy experience
Rehabilitation back to work experience
Minimum 3 years medical experience in rural or remote setting
Experience with trauma/emergency medicine in occupational and/or construction settings
Possess critical skills required to deliver emergency, acute, and routine care
Ability to obtain a Provider Number would be beneficial
Ability to manage serious illness and injury at a remote location, prior to evacuation for further evaluation/treatment at a regional medical facility
Limited licence remote X-Ray Operator Radiography (or be willing to complete)

The successful Doctor will need to be physically capable to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen prior to commencement of employment
