Reporting to the Principal Health and Safety Advisor and part of a small team of professionals servicing the mine and associated processing plants, the role is Health Management Specialist looking after wellness programs , Workers Compensation and Return to work programs, however we do have the flexibility to vary the role. Paramedic experience would be well regarded as would solid Health and Safety Advisor experience.
Key Skills & Experience Required
Work Knowledge:
Experience in First Aid and Occupational Health, preferably in a remote FIFO environment.
Demonstrated ability in assessment of injuries and liaison with medical treatment providers.
An understanding of mining and minerals processing operations.
Knowledge of safety programs and recognised safety management systems.
Knowledge of induction and safety training and a demonstrated ability to develop, improve and deliver such training.
Computer Skills:
Competent in the use of computerised safety management database
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Able to read and write English at an Upper Secondary School standard.
