Medic - West Africa

Job Description
Our client is actively looking to engage with a qualified remote medic to support an ongoing project they have in West Africa.
Requirements
The successful candidate with be required to fulfil the following:
1. Providing primary and emergency medical care on site to client employees.
2. Coordinate evacuations (assist where necessary).
3. Hygiene inspections, health and safety promotion.
4. Administration and reporting.
5. Must be able to work within a team and also be professional in standards.
6. Be self motivated
7. Be prepared to asses, diagnose and treat/dispense to patients within a multi cultural work force.
8. Be prepared to move around, if necessary from site to site in country.
9. Have reasonable knowledge of tropical diseases, particularly malaria.
Details:
An in date Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required and must have been obtained at least 10 days before travel.
Malarial prophylaxis is essential.
Must have a valid offshore Fit To Work Medical Certificate – no dentistry is covered by the company.
Previous experience of West Africa is advantageous – but not necessarily required although previous work within remote hostile environments is essential.
Health & Safety knowledge required.

Salary: $60-70,000 per annum (net of local taxes)
Rotations: 9+3
Flights: Economy flights to UK.
Insurance: Cover will be provided by the client.

Qualifications
- ALS Certificate/Offshore Medical Certificate is essential
- Current registration with professional body
- Previous experience of working in remote/hostile environments
- Nursing knowledge (essential)
- RGN (preferable)
- A&E experience (desirable)
- General Nursing experience (desirable)
- Intensive Care experience would be beneficial (not essential)
- A degree level nurse (BSc.N) would also be beneficial (not essential)
- Experience in tropical medicine (desirable)
- Medically fit and all vaccinations up to date
- Fluent in English
- Computer literate (MS Office)
