Job Description
The Paramedic utilizes their expertise and evidenced based practice to manage unexpected and emergent situations, to mitigate and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner. The Paramedic assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect clinical care and competently function as a member of the interdisciplinary team proving patient and community centered care. The Paramedic serves as an advocate for the patient and their family and intercedes on their behalf by acting as a liaison with respect to their rights and beliefs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide coverage including shift rotations or on-call to assure Emergency Medical Services (EMS) response capability for the CARE Doha compound 24 hours, 7 days.
Provide services required that may range from simple transport between housing and clinic for a medically fragile individual to Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to life-threatening trauma care.
Responsible for communication with the receiving Emergency Department and at the gate for local ambulance transfers.
Operate the on-compound ambulances.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all communications with coworkers and clients, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment that values diversity.
Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work.
Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribed medications.
Establish observable and documentable patient goals using care plans within protocols.
Report all changes in patient’s conditions to the medical provider.
Proactively and independently administer basic care, including but not limited to inserting catheters with blood specimen collection, urine collection and EKG’s, visual acuity, basic wound care, changing bandages or administering intravenous medications.
Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living, as needed.
Provides support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions.
Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies.
Restocking clinical and provider areas once supplies are received.
Crosstrain to work within in the clinics, emergency room, and inpatient units.
Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage.
Participate in exercises and assist in protocol development.
Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Minimum of three (3) years of paramedic experience
Education Required:
Current and unrestricted license from any US State, District of Columbia, US Territory or National Registry or country of record EMT-P to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
American Heart Association - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification and/or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Work is normally performed in a A fluid and ever changings environment outdoor/indoors.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
This position is unaccompanied.
Ability to obtain a base security clearance.
Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Qatar.
