Mission:

The mission is in support of F-16 Base Operations Support/Base Life Support/ Security (BBS services) to provide effective and efficient F-16 BBS services to the Iraqi F-16 mission at Balad Air Base as part of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case to the Government of Iraq.

Scope:

The Registered Nurses reports to the site lead and CMO. Registered Nurses specialize in caring for patients with life-threatening conditions ensuring that life support equipment, such as ventilators and
feeding tubes, functions properly. They observe monitored heart rates, blood pressure and respirations for signs of distress. Registered Nurses administer medication through IVs and inserted catheters as needed. Many critical care nurses have completed training beyond the scope of the RN credential and work under the supervision of physicians. They closely monitor patients, administer intensive therapies, and provide continuous, high-level care for critically ill patient. All Nurses will monitor the patient’s vital signs and communicate the information to Physicians (GMO). Duties will include getting supplies and equipment ready for procedures, studying and interpreting pre-surgical tests to determine how the anesthetic will affect the patient, and assuring that an adequate blood supply is on hand in case of an emergency. Nurses will also perform other tasks during these medical procedures, such as inserting artificial airways, administering oxygen, and attempting to prevent surgical shock. In addition, they may be required to assist with stabilization of patient and coordination of evacuation of patient to medevac center or CONUS. The Registered Nurse maybe assigned to deliver health care and treat patients in one of two settings: (1) Small medical/trauma hospitals, (2) Large medical/trauma hospital. Nurses report to the Program Manager and are clinically supervised by the site medical director and work under the direction of a Physician, Surgeon, or Anesthetist. As an Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical units, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured patients. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; providing a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems; and accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade. All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Practice their specialty based on demand in their work setting.
Promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing physical and psychological support for patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members.
Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends and families.
Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching and counseling patient, friends, and family and reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing; State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
Maintains the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Associations Bill of Rights for patients.
Assists with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.
Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars and other basic office support software.
Complies with all applicable CHS standards and guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have two years of current registered nurse experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Master’s degree in their specialty or education, training and experience required for the specialty for certification in States that specifically define requirements for registered nurses in advanced practice roles (e.g., passing the NCLEX-RN exam); is desirable.
Hold and maintain a current unrestricted medical license.
Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Participate in training, (including HIPAA training).
All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.
Possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.
All healthcare providers must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 6 of the last 12 months in desired career field.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must have a current Passport.
Must sign an offer letter.
Requires a corporate background check, and a favorably adjudicated investigation if required by contract.
Work hours are based on 60 per week.
Ability to speak, write and communicate in English is highly desirable.
Will have a valid, current country of origin or International Driver’s license.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the CHS Medical Management System software.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance CHS Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel is required by surface or air.
The climate is desert-like, hot and prone to dust storms.
