Volunteer medics needed for Raleigh WASH programmes in Tanzania and Nepal

Raleigh International is looking for Expedition Medics to join our sustainable development programmes in spring 2019. Volunteer medics are needed to run our expeditions, so if you’re a qualified doctor, paramedic or nurse, this could be for you! Develop your Expedition medicine experience while leading groups of young people on our projects which include our WASH programmes (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and community-based Natural Resource Management programmes.

As an expedition medic you will:
Look after the general health of all volunteers and manage any medical emergencies if necessary
Deliver first aid training at the beginning of the expedition
Support the project sites with any medical advice if necessary from the expedition office
Be flexible to work from our field base or be required to act as a project manager leading groups of young people
Gain and develop expedition medicine skills and experience and experience living in a completely new and exciting environment
Encourage and motivate the young volunteers to effectively deliver the aims of the project while facilitating the personal development of the group

You must have at least two years post-qualification experience, and medical skills that are transferable to remote static environments. We do require fundraising for our projects, but this covers all expenses when you are in country. Fundraising costs start from £1,150 depending on the time of departure.
