Deputy Health Coordinator , Erbil Iraq

As part of our activities in Iraq, we are looking for a Deputy Health Coordinator.

The Deputy Health Coordinator assesses and strengthens PUI’s health service provision in order to improve the quality of care and support. The Deputy Health Coordinator acts as a liaison person between the Health Coordinator and the technical health team in the field. He/She provides direct support to the Health Liaison Officers and Project Managers to harmonize and standardize processes, tools and guidelines among the mission. The Deputy Health Coordinator ensures and trains on a day-to-day basis in the field with the objective for maximum coherence with PUI’s health framework, national and international protocols/ guidelines and best practices.
Programs: He/She conducts assessments, is involved in the implementation and monitoring of health service provision, while integrating PUI’s health policies, national/ international health standards and guidelines.
Human Resources: He/She supports the health team, provides support to Project Managers for recruiting technical staff and facilitates technical training activities on the basis of identified needs.
Logistics and Administration: He/She ensures compliance of activities falling under his/her responsibility with logistical and administrative procedures.
Representation: He/She represents PUI with partners, authorities and local actors involved in the implementation of health programs.
Safety: He/She contributes to efforts aimed at ensuring compliance with safety rules at the site, and transmits all information relating to safety concerns to his/her immediate supervisor.
Strategy: He/She contributes to the development of new interventions on the basis of identified needs.

Medical training (Doctor or nurse)
Professional Experiences
Humanitarian – At least 2 years
International
Technical

Knowledge and aptitudes :
Knowledge of international health standards, guidelines (e.g. Sphere, WHO, UNFPA)
Previous experience with NGO
Solid supervision and training skills
Knowledge of Project Management

Software:  Pack Office

Required Personal Characteristics
Experience in a similar position, or related experience
Solid technical skills in supervision, training and evaluation
Ability to work in an international team and in a challenging context
Experience developing standards and guidelines in a constant challenging and emerging needs
Sense of diplomacy and openness of spirit
Analytical skills
Organization and manage priorities
Ability to work and manage affairs professionally and with maturity

Languages

English – Mandatory
Arabic, Kurdish – Desirable.

Proposed Terms

Employed with a Fixed-Term Contract – 4 months
Starting Date : December 2017

Salaire / Indemnité

Monthly gross income: from 1980 to 2310 Euros depending on the experience in International Solidarity + 50 Euros per semester seniority with PUI

Cost covered: Round-trip transportation to and from home / mission, visas, vaccines…
Insurance including medical coverage and complementary healthcare, 24/24 assistance and repatriation
Housing in collective accommodation
Daily living Expenses « Per diem »
Break Policy : 5 working days at 3 and 9 months + break allowance
Paid Leaves Policy : 5 weeks of paid leaves per year + return ticket every 6 months
