Purpose Of The Role:
Support to the General Manager in coordinating the development and implementation/execution and effectiveness of the health management system and employee wellness and occupational health management plan

• Sustain a local occupational health management system and associated processes aligned with company Sustainable model e.g. risk management, occupational health, closure planning, employee assistance programs • Model behavior that is consistent with the company Safety Vision and Values. • Identify and interpret safety risks and resolve emerging issues; and ensuring that appropriate focus and resources are available to achieve safety objectives;
Occupational Health 8. Hygiene • Set departmental health and safety goals annually Emergency Care
• Develop policies and procedures to optimize and improve systems across all aspects of clinical care & occupational health, clinic laboratory to ensure a safe environrnent and healthy workforce.
Management
• Design health impact assessment systems to measure the impact on employees & community across all disciplines • Develop HIV strategy by designing various HIV projects and initiatives to minimize HIV impact in society • Develop and monitor malaria control program • Develop strategy to ensure Integrity of information systems and compliance with legislative requirements, • Ensure quality improvement of all clinic functions: occupational health, occupational hygiene, radiology and clinical care and emergency services • Develop a staff training program to support department succession plan and continuity • Develop pharmaceutical systems and policies. • Initiate the department annual Budget and procurement management plan • Monitor and report against monthly expenditure and control variances to ensure financial safety for the department • Safety OHSAS, ISO & cyanide codes • Contribute to the development of a Medical services department budget and plan in order to demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in achieving business performance objectives • Ensure appropriate supplier contract management • Identifying and prioritizing all operational risks and liabilities and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of risk and liability mitigation action plans • Ensure reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines, and schedules; and monitor and evaluate Medical Services reporting for improved business decisions and internal/external information sharing.

Qualifications
• Recognized tertiary qualification in Medical field /Management Experience
• 5 to 10 Years' operational experience within a mining environment of which 2 years should be at management level
• 5 to 10 Years' operational experience within a mining environment of which 2 years should be at management level
• Proven experience in the fields of Safety, Health or the Environrnental fields
Other Requirements
