Health program coordinator (M/F) - Iraq

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the field coordinator, the health program coordinator supervises the implementation of MdM health activities including mental health.

More specifically, your responsibilities will be to:
-Ensure that beneficiaries and local populations understand the project objectives and participate actively in their
implementation
-Plan activities and ensure that timelines are respected
-Ensure the proper functioning of programs and ensure compliance with goals defined in the project proposal/s
-Ensure follow-up and analysis of epidemiological data
-Undertake needs assessments of programs in relation to medical equipment, medication, medical consumables, etc.
-Ensure the implementation of monitoring and/or evaluation
-Ensure that internal rules and procedures are known and respected
-Provide support to the medical team
-Participate in the elaboration of job profiles and participate actively in the hiring process
-Create coordination mechanisms specific to the team and ensure proper supervision
-Identify the training needs and address them
-Ensure that each staff is subject to a written evaluation at least once per contract period and per year
-Ensure appropriate storage of medications, medical consumables and equipment
-Represent the organization and ensure good relations with stakeholders, local authorities and other NGOs
-Contribute to efforts aimed at ensuring compliance with safety rules at the site
-Participate actively in camp-level coordination meetings
-Participate in the strategy development of the mission, identify needs and contributes to proposal writing


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Status : Employee
Contract : Fixed-term contract
Duration : 6 to 12 months

Starting date: November 2017
Based in Dohuk with frequent visits to the interventions sites and regular visits to Erbil office

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Nurse, midwife or medical doctor diploma, Master in Public Health would be an asset
Experience in health project management and monitoring & evaluation
Experience with Primary Health Care and Sexual & Reproductive Health programs
Experience in negotiations with local authorities and partners in a critical and stressful context
Experience in Middle East context is an asset
Ability to manage a multicultural team
Ability to live in an area with security and movement constraints
Ability to transfer competences and provide capacity building
Good writing and communication skills
Languages: fluent English is mandatory
French/Arabic/Kurdish is an asset
