Site Medic

Location: Australia


Our client is one of Australia's leading independent producers of high quality iron ore products, with a number of operating mines and established port and rail transport solutions throughout Western Australia.

This position is based in the mid-west of Western Australia and provides a stimulating work environment where you'll report to the HSEC Manager. It is a rewarding role which will suit someone who loves to be at the forefront of medical services provision in an operational environment.

In this key role your responsibilities will include:
Assist the HSEC Manager in providing support and advice to line management and personnel in the areas of Health, Safety and Training.
Provide first contact medical services to personnel engaged on the site and ensure that appropriate follow-up medical attention is sourced and provided for cases requiring such.
Ensure all medical incidents and hazards are reported and investigated in accordance with company procedures and appropriate remedial actions are implemented in a timely manner.
Maintain the site databases accounting for site incidents injuries hazards and inductions.
Support the Emergency Response Team in providing support and advice.
Conduct alcohol and drug analysis in conjunction with the company Fitness for Work Procedure.
Present and review site induction material and deliver other safety training as required.
Injury management and return to work facilitation.

With comprehensive open pit mining experience in hard rock conditions you will possess good leadership skills in providing motivation and influencing performance of staff. You'll be an effective communicator, capable of developing productive relationships at all levels, with a good positive attitude that reflects the company's values.

In addition you will have a -
Demonstrated high level of clinical skill and knowledge
Current WA "C" – Motor vehicle licence for manual transmission.
Nursing Qualification or Minimum Cert IV Health Care (Ambulance).
Injury Management.
Training and Assessment
Cert IV OH&S (desirable)
An ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
