Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opening for one full-time Paramedic position at the Garyville Refinery who will report to the Health Services Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Medical
Provide medical care coverage under the direction of the MPC Health Services Department within the scope of practice of a Paramedic
Plan, schedule and perform employee surveillance exams and OSHA mandated testing
Perform DOT and non-DOT drug/alcohol screening
Rendering medical care/treatment for occupational injury/exposure
Medical case management
Assist with FMLA case management as needed
Wellness
Assist with planning and preparation of wellness related activities including “lunch and learns”, wellness fairs and blood drives
Promote the MPC wellness program as needed both on-site and off-site
Training
Conduct First Aid, AED, and CPR training as needed
Conduct HF acid training for local hospitals
Drills
Participate in and assist in coordinating HF acid drills
Emergency Response
Assist Shift ERT with evacuations during refinery emergencies
Respond to refinery emergencies both medical and fire related
Available for 24 hour call-out in case of emergencies
Inspections
Perform periodic inspection and calibration of Health Services/Medical equipment
Track and order medications and medical supplies as needed
Assist with audit preparation
Competencies
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess good time management skills, and be capable of working autonomously
Required Qualifications/Experience
Current National Registry or Louisiana Paramedic
Willing to work evenings or weekends as/if needed
Willing to work in hot environments which includes physical activity and heavy lifting
Phlebotomy/IV proficiency
Urine analysis
Perform/interpret EKGs
Vision testing
Perform hands-on screening physical exams
Administer vaccinations
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Occupational/Industrial medical experience
Fire/rescue experience
Audiometry, certification
Spirometry, certification
DOT urine drug screen and BAT certification
Psychemedics hair drug screening
FMLA/LOA knowledge
Formal presentation experience (hands on and classroom) of training material
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Bachelors Degree in related field
