We are looking for a medical advisor in order to implement a project supported by ECHO. In the context of the current military operations the project aims at providing medical services to civilians and particularly at:
Ensuring access to civilians and war-prisoners with war-related trauma injuries into live-saving medical care.
Enhancing trauma care at the frontline and ensure punctual referral to field hospitals.
Preventing avoidable losses of life and further complications as a result of injury. Ensure rapid transit and medical treatment for patients within the golden hour
Reinforcing of trauma referral pathways by strengthening trauma stabilization points and operative hospitals.
Role and Responsibilities
The medical advisor will be responsible for:
Supervising the quality of the project’s medical operations.
Supporting the Project Manager in defining the strategies of the medical intervention
Supporting the local partner in the implementation of the medical interventions.
Elaborating M&E data for reporting purpose
Supporting the project manager in the reporting activities
Essential Requirements:
• Medical degree. It is not required any medical specialization but a good understanding of the medical case management.
• Minimum of five years professional experience in the medical sector.
• Good understanding of the project life cycle management
• Excellent capacity to work in team.
• Proven capacities to plan activities successfully targeting results and objectives.
• Ability to supervise and/or mentor the medical staff.
• Previous work experience in humanitarian field.
• Excellent oral and written English. Arabic and Italian are an asset.
• Working experience with local counterparts (CSOs, local NGOs, local institutions).
• Experience of planning, organizing and prioritizing work, working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure in stressful environments.
