Job Summary


URS has an opening for an EMT/Paramedic.
Provide appropriate medical care for URS employees that are working in austere environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Must be familiar with emergency response procedures including initial trauma care and coordination of an injured or ill employee to a higher level of care via medical evacuation.
Must operate a clinic facility with adequate medical supplies and medication.
Must be able to be determined fit for duty status taking into consideration the Department of Defense Mod 12 requirements for civilian contractors deploying overseas.
Maintain clinic operations, providing elevated first-aid medical care to ill or injured employees and make informed, professional decisions with regard to referrals for a higher level of care.
Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
Accurately diagnose physical conditions of patients through professional knowledge of medical symptoms.
Document patient care services by charting in-patient and department records.
Perform effective therapeutic procedures including administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds, infections and soft tissue injuries.
Instruct and counsel patients by describing self-care regimens; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans as appropriate.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with proper hygiene procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ensure that medical treatment documentation is accurate, legible and timely.
Attend meetings as required to report statistical data related to clinic operations.
Must support and help implement URS Safety Policies and Injury Management Protocols, including URS Early Return to Work policy.
Help promote a strong safety culture within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
Adhere to ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions in support of the URS Quality Management System
Perform other duties as directed or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certified EMT-Paramedic.
Must possess an active EMT-Paramedic License with no prior or current suspension of license
Occupational safety training and knowledge of OSHA standards is preferred.

Experience:
At least 5 years clinic experience in EMT-Paramedic duties. International experience is preferred.
Specialized knowledge and skills:
EMT-Paramedic License

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during an extended work week.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously, 50 intermittently.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
This position may require the ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance.
