Medical Coordinator , Sudan

Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

Collaborate with the Program Director to achieve program objectives and targets effectively and efficiently.
Collaborate with site manager, area coordinator, and M&E coordinator to ensure program implementation is on track.
Actively participate in program design and development including conducting and coordinating need assessments, stakeholder analysis, identification of beneficiaries, specifying program activities.
Ensure timely and effective program implementation through proper work planning, coordination and mobilizing the inputs.
Maintain and procure supplies regularly using a procurement tracking sheet.
Supervise and monitor both health facility performance and program performance based on standard checklists.
Ensure proper quality of health care in the facilities supported.
Ensure diagnosis and treatment of patients is based on standard procedures (national and international guidelines).
Ensure the community based activities such as EPI, nutrition screening, health education and defaulter tracing are done properly.
Actively participate in the identification and management of any disaster or epidemics.
Build the capacity of national staffs through proper coaching and training.
Ensure timely submission of internal and external reports.
Actively participate in human resource management such as induction, motivation and coaching.
Manage and support local partners in operational area.
Represent IMC at relevant forums at state and locality level.
Ensure application and compliance of security protocols and policies.
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Qualifications:
The degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD).
Previous experience in nutrition programs is required.
Masters in public health or related postgraduate studies is desirable
Hospital management experience is desirable.
Reproductive health experience including comprehensive obstetric care is desirable.
Languages – working knowledge of English. Arabic will be an asset
Strong report rewriting skills
Previous management and leadership experience in humanitarian emergency set-ups
Very good interpersonal skills and team player
Advanced knowledge of medical sciences and primary health care
Basic computer skills – Microsoft Suite (Office, Outlook, Excel) – and other computer based systems
Ability and willingness to manage projects in resource-limited hardship areas
