Medical Coordinator , Iraq

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight for all health related aspects of ECHO, UN and any other projects that arise

· Supervise technical staff (quality of care, daily reports, staffing schedules, etc.)
· Supervise pharmaceutical supply chain including timely review and requests based on consumption,    oversight of receipt, storage and distribution of medications
· Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the proposals and budgets
· Ensure all reports are submitted in a timely manner including monthly donor report, EWARNs, etc.
· Conduct field assessments as needed and as requested by supervisor or their designated representative
· Conduct field visits for monitoring program progress and quality issues when/where security allows
· Assist team in all technical aspects of emergency preparedness and response as needed
· Assist in program start ups, (MMUs/clinics/etc.) and other technical issues as needed
· Coordinate with MOH, UN agencies and other actors as needed
· Provide on-the-job training for staff as needed
· Provide technical assistance to other field sites as requested by supervisor or their designated representative
· Adhere to IMC Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles 
Others
Ensures application and compliance of security protocols and policies
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Minimum medical degree;
• Minimum 3 years experience in overseas NGO programs (preferably developing country or low-resource setting)
• Must have experience in emergency/conflict settings
• Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written; knowledge of Kurdish/Arabic an advantage
• Must have excellent self-motivation skills
• Must have the ability to work with beneficiaries, government agencies, UN agencies and other NGO’s;
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
• Must be extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
• Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively
• Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
• Ability to assume non-medical responsibilities from time to time to cover for other team members
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills
