About this opportunity

This is not a job for those who can't handle a challenge! It is not your typical site-based Medic position. We require someone with resilience, who is able to think outside of the square, to play a critical role in developing a new benchmark for site based medic and emergency response services. Davyhurst is a start-up project and therefore we need someone who is not afraid of change, embraces innovation and is able to work productively without regular supervision. Initially reporting to the Resident Manager, we are looking for a safety & emergency response leader in their own right.

Key Duties
Provide emergency response and medic services in the instance of incident or injury onsite
Develop emergency response and medic site standards and procedures
Develop and implement training programs to all staff to ensure ongoing commitment, knowledge and skills relating to emergency response
Assist with the investigation and root cause analysis of site based incidents, ensuring open and concise reporting and communication to the Head Office safety team and senior management
Advise and consult with Senior Management in relation to the development of site medical and emergency response infrastructure.

Skills & experience
Cert IV in pre-hospital care, Cert III in Mines Rescue and Response and a Drug & Alcohol Collector's Certificate
At least 2 years' experience within the mining industry in an emergency services or paramedic role
Understanding of the Mines Safety Inspection Act & Regulations
Manual drivers' licence
Although not essential, underground rescue qualifications and a Cert IV in Training & Assessing are highly desirable

Eastern Goldfields offers challenging and diverse career opportunities, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Employees work in hands-on, highly autonomous roles, where professional development occurs on a daily basis and outstanding individual contributions are readily recognised.
