Job Description 

Mediclinic Middle East is looking for an engaging, creative and motivated Life Support Instructors.

The Life Support Instructors will be responsible for conducting Basic Life Support and Advance Life Support classes for Mediclinic employees.

Candidates with AHA certification to conduct BLS, ACLS and/or PALS training is preferred. Applicants must be willing to travel as the role is UAE wide including the Western Region.
Requirements Requirements – Licensing & Education:
•Certified Instructor for American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
•Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Nursing (minimum of 3 years duration) from a recognized Nursing Institute. Or Bachelor of Science or Diploma as an Emergency Medical Technician.
•Current license as a Registered Nurse/Paramedic (in home country and in current country of residence)
•Licensed as Registered Nurse / Midwife/Paramedic according to the UAE requirements – Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) or Dubai Health Authority (DHA or Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) licensure or Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services (DCAS)
•Minimum of five years’ experience after graduation; preferably in a private hospital

Skills & Abilities required:
•Advanced knowledge in area of expertise
•With advance presentation skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
•English language proficiency is a must and Arabic language skills would be an advantage
•Ability to develop and deliver presentations for training
•Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply principles of Adult Learning
•Ability to identify training needs of staff and plan learning objectives and/or remediation accordingly
•Ability to develop and present lectures, presentations and curricula for new courses
•Acts as a role model and mentor
•Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills, as they relate to a clinical setting
•Well- developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
Key Outputs •Oversees and provides instruction for AHA Life Support Training Programs for the Mediclinic Middle East staff, community and healthcare professionals, and clinical students
•Coordinates with the local and regional AHA accreditation bodies to obtain and maintain Mediclinic Middle East certification as an approved AHA Life Support Training Center in Qatar
•Continuously evaluates training programs and makes recommendations for improvement; ensures that recommendations for improvement are carried out and evaluated.
•Works with the other clinical education team members in various areas of clinical education development (facilities, educational and technological resources, equipment planning, procedures, staffing, etc.)
•Oversees budget for the Life Support Training Program; makes recommendations for the acceptance of learners outside of Mediclinic Middle East if time and space permit and makes estimates of revenue and expenditures for such programs
•Liaises with outside entities (other healthcare facilities, universities, and private employers) to develop agreements to train students other than Mediclinic Middle East staff if required.
•Develops recommendations and assists in the procurement process for equipment and consumables for Life Support Training programs
•Develops, purchases, and distributes training material where required
•Assesses the effectiveness of training in achieving learning outcomes and assesses skill retention. Makes recommendations for most effective mode of delivery of Life Support Training
•Uses and operates different life support technology including mannequins, task trainers, cardiac and respiratory equipment, and other simulation equipment as required, and oversees the maintenance program for such equipment
•Uses advanced digital AV systems, as well as Mediclinic Middle East CIS, LMS, ERP, and other systems related to work in the simulation center and education and ensures that these fit into Mediclinic Middle East overall IT structure. Liaises with Mediclinic Middle East technical departments including IM and Biomedical Engineering.
•Ensures the training delivered complies with the legal and regulatory requirements in UAE, AHA requirements, and other simulation center requirements
