Field-based Team Leader for Trauma Stabilization Clinic , Mosul, Iraq

Salary/Benefits : US$6,600 per month, with all insurance costs (health, accidental death and dismemberment, evacuation, kidnap/ransom)


Team Leader Role and Responsibilities
To support the volunteer clinicians, we are seeking a Team Leader to organize and run the TSP. This is a paid, field-based consultancy position for a defined term of 3 to 6 months. The Team Leader will be ultimately responsible for the operation of the TSP and its progress towards program goals.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Overseeing data collection from chart review
Reporting to the Health Cluster and representing the TSP at cluster and trauma working group meetings
Coordinating TSP movement (the TSP moves from time to time as the front lines change) with the World Health Organization (WHO) Erbil office, and local Department of Health
Maintaining security awareness for the TSP team (there will be a full time security officer hired to advise on security matters)
Field logistics for the TSP such as water and waste management, electricity, heat, cleaning, maintaining equipment and supplies, and coordinating interactions with Department of Health ambulances and referral hospitals
Maintaining communication with and submitting periodic reports of activities to the Country Director in Iraq, and US-based  leadership

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a clinical or public health background (please note this is non-clinical, leadership/management position), minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including experience working in low-resource settings, disaster and/or conflict environments, and/or experience working with Emergency Medical Teams Type 1/Mobile (based on WHO Classification and Minimum Standards for Foreign Medical Teams Working in Sudden Onset Disasters), fluency in English (required), working knowledge of Arabic (preferred, not required). Persons hired for this role will receive intensive on-the-job training from the existing Team Leader for no less than 4 weeks.

Compensation and expectations

The salary for the position will be US$6,600 per month, with all insurance costs (health, accidental death and dismemberment, evacuation, kidnap/ransom), flights, accommodations, and in-country travel covered by company. As this is a field position, there are no set hours for the position, and the Team Leader would be expected to perform the work necessary to maintain 24-hour operation of the TSP. Paid leave is available for commitments of more than 3 months duration.
