Location: Somalia
We are working to complete a response to the United Nations for medics and equipment for support of UNSOS mission in Somalia to be part of the UNSOS AMET (Air Medical Evacuation Team). Two medics will be assigned to each of the following seven (7) locations in Somalia: Mogadishu, Baledogle, Dhobley, Baidoa, Beletweyne, Jowahar, and Kismaavo.
Aircraft employed with be MI8 rotorcraft and DASH 7 or DASH 8 fixed-wing aircraft.
All AMET medics must be fluent in English and at least one member of each AMET two-medic team must be conversant in French.
At least one medic in AMET at each location must be have NVG capability.
At least one medic in AMET at each location must be PHTLS and ACLS instructor certified. It may be acceptable to have on medic PHTLS instructor certified and the other medic ACLS instructor certified. This is all tied into the training segment of the contract as medics will be teaching SNA and UN personnel.
Two AMET personnel per aircraft will be mandatory.
All AMET candidates must submit documentation of current license and certificates for instructor certification.
Medic candidates must have the following:
Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing or paramedic program or an accredited diploma program.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a combat medic with additional certification in one or more of the following:
Critical care paramedic program
Flight paramedic course
PHTLS
ACLS
Fluent in English
