Medical Advisor , Asia

Position Overview


The Medical Advisor will support the night shifts for the International SOS Assistance Centres in Asia. You will provide support to the 24 hour Assistance Centres combined with the running of medical evacuations and transport of patients.



Key Responsibilities
Receive calls from various locations in Asia relating to requests for medical assistance abroad and ascertain the assistance requirements of Intl.SOS clients.
Facilitate the provision of assistance through referral to accredited medical and technical providers at various international patient locations abroad.
Collect as appropriate medical and other relevant information from international sources and collate updates for Intl.SOS clients.
Professionally communicate verbally and/or in writing to relevant parties/clients at various international locations the progress of medical assistance cases.
Provide guidance regarding the operational planning and progress of international medical assistance cases.
Maintain the Intl.SOS medical transportation standards in facilitating the logistical arrangements of international medical transportations to and from overseas locations.

Required Registration
Full registration to practice medicine in country of origin or residence

Required Work Experience/Knowledge
Medical Doctor with minimum 5 years of post graduation experience
Experience gained within accident & emergency and general practice

Desirable Work Experience/Knowledge
Varied international medical and/or health care system experience
Experience in assistance, aviation, remote area medicine
