Position Summary 
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) is a subcontractor for a government contract with Vectrus that provides health care services for Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) in Qatar. 
The Attending/Supervising Physician is an essential member of the TMC team and in addition to providing patient care will also be responsible for outreach to the military community on base. 
The Attending/Supervising position will be responsible for the management of acute and chronic conditions that affect their patients and will serve as the primary source of consultation for other health care professionals. They will be responsible for reviewing patient reports and provide oversight and medical direction of staff. They will also approve/disapprove subspecialty referrals by physician assistants and nurse practitioners. They will examine, diagnose and treat all qualifying beneficiaries, as scheduled by the government. Formulate differential diagnostic plans, as well as define and order required diagnostic testing. Interprets examination findings and test results and implement treatment plans. Obtain legible detailed records of patient history, including diagnosing his/her injury or illness and formulating a prognosis. Prescribe medication and treatment for the patient. Perform various invasive medical procedures as clinically appropriate for the physician’s specialty and classification. Determines need for consultation with host nation or other available specialists and assists in the medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists as available. Prepare records and reports as required in support of services rendered in accordance
with established procedures. The physician will also be the Emergency Medical Service Director for Camp As Sayliyah Fire and Emergency Service Department.
They will provide oversight and medical direction (both on-line and off-line) for all EMS Providers and will be responsible for creation, administration, and implementation of all EMS Protocols. They will be responsible for reviewing and providing medical direction for the CAS Continuing Education Program. They will also be responsible for Medical Oversight of Certification / Recertification Packages, and will be the designated Medical Director through the National Registry of EMTs for all contract EMS professionals assigned to Camp As Sayliyah.


Position Requirements
The Attending/Supervising Physician will work in a supervisory role and will have some administrative duties in addition to their clinical duties. The physician will provide some administrative oversight to the Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners as determined by the Medical Services Manager (MSM).

• The work schedule is 48 hours/ week based on assigned shifts (shift =8hrs/day).

The physician will be required to submit an application for hospital privileges/appointment through Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and must be approved prior to starting work at the Troop Medical Clinic. The physician will also have to complete an application for credentialing through the GW Medical Faculty Associates. 


Education
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- ECFMG Certificate if Medical School is non-US
- Current Board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties, American Medical
Association or the American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists in Family
Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or the equivalent of a General Internist
- Must obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training and
Certification
- Must provide CV with credentials
- Must present the demeanor of a health professional
Experience:
- At minimum 5 years employed as a practicing physician
- Active/unrestricted /valid MD/DO license. Must have and be able to maintain a
current state licensure in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or the
US Virgin Islands and a DC License.
- Must be capable of handling multiple tasks at once

- Have a Secret Clearance or be able to obtain a secret clearance
Supervision Received: Reports to the Medical Services Manager, and clinically to the GW MFA Medical Director
Supervision Exercised: Supervises 1 Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners.
